Statement: "Fragments and Form"
The
search for meaning and reference, crosses the boundaries
of glimpsed realities, emotive gesture, and visceral
visualization.
Subject
matter is derived from the inner and outer emotional
landscape, real and imagined environments and objects.
Texture
creates sumptuous surfaces, line alludes to shape and
form, color suggests ephemeral environments and states
of mind.
Subjective
references are to etched metal surfaces, cell phone
static, peeled paint, scratched cement, slashed surfaces,
calligraphic marks, fragments of remembered places,
and times past, mixed together and overlaid in opaque
and translucent textural color layers.
